Key Courses
Students can major in Mining Engineering, Mineral
Processing, or Geophysics. 15 ECTS are joint courses
in all study options, Mining Project Feasibility Study and
Professional Practical Training. Among them 45 ECTS are
major-specific together with 30 ECTS thesis. In addition,
30 ECTS are free-choice courses. Mandatory Finnish
language studies (5 ECTS) for international students.

related engineering or natural sciences, with a passion for
sustainable practices in the field of mining. This individual
is driven by a commitment to environmental management
and innovation in the mining sector and is eager to engage
with the industry through internships and collaborative
projects, aiming to contribute to the mining cycle. Your
previous degree can be in the field of engineering or in
natural sciences, preferably geophysics, geosciences,
physics, or chemistry. Engineering mathematics courses
in Calculus, Differential Equations, and Matrix Algebra are
required to be completed.
