UniOulu Experience
Every year, the University of Oulu welcomes hundreds of international students from around
the globe. From the moment you’re accepted, we’re here to support your student journey.
Our online pre-orientation services help you prepare for life in Oulu before
you even arrive, and once you’re on campus, our Orientation week offers
a warm welcome. It’s a chance to meet fellow international students as
well as Finnish peers, helping you feel at home from day one.
At the University of Oulu, we value each student as an individual. That’s why you’ll be
assigned a tutor teacher within your degree programme—an approachable academic
advisor, addressed by first name, who will help you craft a personal study plan tailored
to your goals. A well-structured study plan is your roadmap to academic success.
Even before you set foot in Oulu, you’ll meet your student tutor—a fellow student and
a friendly face ready to help. These experienced peer students are specially trained
to guide you through your first days and introduce you to everyday life in Oulu.
